This is my first attempt at my own sick fic. I have never even done a fanfic before, so this may suck, but hey maybe some will enjoy it even though it may or may not be totally out of character. Any positive and negative feedback is welcome.
Title: Just Distract Me
Author: Sickficfan
Gender Getting Sick: Male
Character Relationship: Friendship, although you can take the bromance things how you want
Blake watched Adam rush off to the bathroom as the taping for the blinds ended for the day. He was tempted to follow him to give him a hard time about not knowing talent when he heard it, but Adam was pee shy and refused to talk to Blake off set for a week last time he had walked in on Adam in the bathroom. Thus, instead Blake went over to talk to the newest member of his team.
Turned out to be a good choice because it gave Blake something even better to use to rub in how Adam was helping Blake win. Also, it seemed Adam was taking a dump and not just peeing because Adam had only emerged from the bathroom and gone off to his to trailer shortly before Blake ended his thirty minute conversation.
Blake headed over to Adam's trailer and gave a quick courtesy knock before trying the handle and proceeding to go right in when he found it unlocked. Blake found Adam lying on the couch with his arms over his eyes. Without even looking to see who it was, Adam halfheartedly said, "Get out, Blake."
Knowing Adam did not entirely mean it and eager to have some friendly trash talk, Blake continued over to the chair across from the couch and put his feet up on the couch with his boot's almost touching Adam's feet still wearing shoes.
Blake: Already regretting not turning your chair for the last artist?
Adam: No.
Blake: Did you even hear him? He so clearly has potential to win this season that even you should have been able to tell.
Adam: He wouldn't have chosen me if I had turned my chair.
Blake: As usual you're wrong. He didn't directly come out in say it, but he's definitely a big Maroon 5 fan and he was clearly disappointed you were the one coach that didn't turn for him.
Adam: Can't you think of anything better to do than trying to mess with my head.
Blake: Yeah, but Miranda isn't in town.
Adam: Please just leave me alone.
Blake gets up and starts heading to the door.
Adam whimpers after him, "Blaaaake."
Blake: Whaaat?
Adam: Stay.
Blake stops with his hand on the door handle. He turns his head to look at Adam and says, "Get out, leave me alone, stay. What do you want me to do?"
Adam: Just distract me.
After a minute of silence, Blake slowly walks over to the couch and begins to lean down to kiss Adam. He is inches from Adam's lips when Adam moves his arms from his eyes for the first time since Blake came into the trailer. As Adam realizes what Blake is about to do, he quickly slaps Blake away.
"Blake Tolli--" Adam begins to reprimand Blake, but trails off as he reaches behind the end of the couch to retrieve the trash can. He barely gets it close enough as he leans over the side of the couch and vomits into it.
As Adam continues to retch, Blake sits down on the edge of the couch and rubs circles on Adam's back.
Blake sees that the vomit has hints of pink and orange and rice and says, "I told you eating sushi is just asking for food poisoning."
Adam quickly mutters, "migraine," before he continues puking until there is nothing left to come up. After a few dry heaves, he relaxes back on the couch.
Blake: You need some water, drugs, or?
Adam: I just need a distraction to stop hyperfocusing on the pain.
Blake silently sits there for what feels like an hour trying to think of something to distract Adam. Talking seemed out as that had just lead to Adam wanting him to leave. Anything physical seemed out as while he didn't really mind being slapped, it had only seemed to make Adam feel worse.
Adam: Damn, the silence is worse than your insults.
Blake: So, you want me to go back to telling you about how you just lost this season?
Adam: Not really.
After a few more minutes of silence, Adam says, "Sing something."
Not seeing Adam's guitar where Adam normally keeps it, Blake asks, "Where's your guitar?"
Adam points to the back of his trailer. Blake gets up to go find it. He locates it under the outfit Adam had worn when they were taping the coaches' performance for the premier earlier in the day. As he heads back to Adam, he asks, "Have a request?"
Adam: Will you finally let me hear the song you're recording with Shakira?
Blake laughs as he starts to strum on the guitar. Adam doesn't get what's funny at first, but he soon realizes it's a fitting choice and they'll both later look back at when they found their song.
This cracked me up. Nice combination of H/C and humor!
